Recently, a cyclist was hit by an autonomous car that was being tested by Uber. Unfortunately, the cyclist succumbed to her injuries. Uber immediately suspended all its autonomous car tests in the United States and sent out a release that stated that their thoughts are with the family of the deceased.
However, other autonomous car developers, led by Google's Waymo, are putting in a lot of driverless test miles as this graph from Statista shows:.
